If you're a mission-driven entrepreneur, you care about the quality and impact of your programs.
Here's the thing ...
As you begin exploring how to create learning that matters, it’s easy to feel lost, overwhelmed, or unsure whether the money you’re spending—or the advice you’re getting—will pay off.

You’re so invested in what you do, but unpacking it in a way that creates a context for deep learning is a whole other challenge -  especially when you’re so close to your own work.

For learning to deliver on a transformational promise, the content, the design and the delivery need to work together in skillful harmony. People need to go on a well crafted shared adventure of discovery.
That’s where I can help.

Wild Learning is all about providing the simple processes, tools and partnership to guide purpose-driven small business owners like you to overcome the challenges of crafting learning that has a meaningful impact.
Imagine a vibrant, creative and emergent collaboration between your expertise and ideas, and my experience and insight in adult learning design and delivery. Imagine working with someone who listens deeply and reflects back your vision in a way that has you leaning in and saying, “YES!”.

Hi! I'm Tina

Instructional designer, learning geek, and tender to the herd.
Raised by parents who loved to teach my sisters and I about life - from cloud formations, to other cultures, to living with the wild ones on camping trips in the deep woods. Those early experiences planted the seeds of a passion for experiential learning that has continued to grow.
Throughout my career I’ve designed programs for a huge variety of organizations - from global courses offered in multiple languages, to highly specialized programs for niche professions. I helped to build and grow a company that designed our own learning platform and approach to learning strategy.
Even with the experience I had and following the principles of adult learning, there was something missing. I started exploring other related fields, apprenticing to a world renowned improvisational musician and storyteller. I completed a unique Masters degree in Conscious Evolution where I studied how humans learn and grow culturally. I wanted to know, given all the challenges we face, why is the rise of readily-available learning not making the difference it could (consistent data shows less than 5% is completed, WTF)?
In 2015, I made a radical leap moving to live and learn with a herd of horses. I became certified in Equine Facilitated Learning (EFL) where my facilitation partners are horses. By 2019, the insights I was gaining from offering learning programs at the farm became the foundation for programs I started teaching at the University of Ottawa Professional Development Institute. In 2020, I began applying a living framework to learning design - one that I am continuously evolving through my work with the horses and inspiring entrepreneurs just like you. This approach is what I call Wild Learning.

The Wild Learning approach is:
-
A paradigm shift in learning design that goes beyond existing methodologies like andragogy.
 -
Simple and fun. I guide you through it step-by-step and we also shape it through our collaboration.
 -
Financially sound and personalized. We iterate, test, assess, and integrate. No huge upfront investment - no crossing of fingers and hoping.
 -
Technologically savvy and straight forward. I help you decipher all the options and sort through the tech clutter.

And yes, we’ll use readily available, off-the-shelf tools grounded in practical business management.

We might be a good fit if ...
-
You have some real street cred and experience in your field.
 -
You want to foster a genuine connection with your people (you want learning to be a two-way relationship).
 -
You’d like help making sense of all the learning tech from someone who isn’t trying to sell you a specific app or platform.
 -
You’re passionate about your people using your learning - you’re in it for more than the sales (but that too).
 -
You want the process of designing your learning program to be fun and inspiring (even if you’ve got a lot on your plate, and who doesn’t?!).

We might just love each other if ...
-
You’re curious about what nature can teach us about meaningful learning.
 -
You want to be part of a positive shift in the dominant culture of power-over.
 -
You fall asleep or at least get bored with lecture-style learning.
 -
You have a secret - or not so secret - curiosity about horses.
